Job Responsibilities

The Arrivals and Departures functional area is responsible for ensuring excellence in airport operations and passenger experience for all visitors, including constituent groups and spectators during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

Our mission is to provide smooth airport operations, logistical support and seamless mobility for each FIFA client group and general spectators by ensuring cohesion between all airport stakeholders and tournament organizers.

The Host City Airport Coordinator will work closely with the Host City Airport Manager and Supervisor to guarantee the service level for each client in all airports.

Job Duties

  • Will work closely with the Host City Airport Manager
  • Coordinate airport operations on airside and landside
  • Work collaboratively with the team and ensure adherence to the daily operational plan
  • Participate in daily meetings giving ideas and feedback to improve the operation
  • Ensure that all airport safety and security regulations are followed.
  • Ensure that the Site Operational Plan is followed for all operational duties and facilitations.
  • Provide directional guidance for FIFA clients, helping them to solve issues at passport control, customs, and biosecurity.
  • Assist with mishandled baggage cases, being the focal point between client and handling company/airline.
  • Oversee the contracted Meet and Greet suppliers' performance ensuring agreed service levels are delivered.
  • Assist clients with any communication problems at passport control, customs, and biosecurity
  • Welcome the FIFA clients
  • Motivate the team, especially volunteers.
  • Maintain positive working ties with airport employees and government representatives
  • Responsible for the liaison of airside and landside operations
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with airport authorities.

Experience and skills

Experience

  • Airport transport operations work experience: ideally within the football, sport, event.
  • Transport operations experience within at least one international mega event, ideally at least one world class sport event (e.g., World Cup and / or Olympic Games, Regional Football Tournaments, etc.).
  • Experience working in multi-functional event organisations and in dynamic and fast paced environments.
  • Experience of leading a team and proven project delivery experience.
